Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: af_alg - Disallow concurrent writes in af_alg_sendmsg Issuing two writes to the same af_alg socket is bogus as the data will be interleaved in an unpredictable fashion. Furthermore, concurrent writes may create inconsistencies in the internal socket state. Disallow this by adding a new ctx->write field that indiciates exclusive ownership for writing.
Determination
Confirmed. Site uid 1164 / home /home/rcijric can open AF_ALG. CVE-2025-39964 is locally reachable on morris. Item | Status Kernel | 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.89 — CONFIG_CRYPTO_USER_API=y, no ctx->write CageFS | Does not strip AF_ALG Remote | No. Needs a process as that uid Vendor fix on this NVR | None expected KEV | Yes (2026-09-18) This is not LiteSpeed/OpenSSL. It is a local race: two threads sendmsg() on one AF_ALG fd. Realistic outcomes are oops or garbage crypto on that socket — not unauth WAN RCE. Do not swap the LVE 3.10 kernel. Do: Keep site SSH off unless required Treat any shell on a domain account as the privilege needed to start the race Watch CloudLinux kernel notes for 39964 / af_alg — do not hold your breath Ticket text: KEV, local AF_ALG concurrent-write, reachable from CageFS uids, no patch on this NVR, not internet-facing Same bucket as other “3.10 code present, local only, no ELS backport.” Scanner stays red; exposure is a logged-in site user, not port 443.

This is not LiteSpeed/OpenSSL. It is a local race: two threads sendmsg() on one AF_ALG fd. Realistic outcomes are oops or garbage crypto on that socket — not unauth WAN RCE.
Do not swap the LVE 3.10 kernel.
Do:
Keep site SSH off unless required
Treat any shell on a domain account as the privilege needed to start the race
